DAHAT AND THE ACCURSED
1000 years earlier:
Dozens of kalethar carry the extra-terrestrial urns that alone can contain starlight. Heading toward a secret underground detention site, the bedraggled remnants are cautiously hopeful. The capture of The Accursed—Dahat and his four demonic accomplices—brings closure to centuries of warfare perpetrated by their murderous relatives, who, like them, were evil crafted from the light of stars. Dahat is sealed in the first vessel by Indra, surrounded by a dozen of his fiercest kalethar fighters. Rasuk The Possessor, Alih The Shifter, and Nyata The Listener follow, also secured by determined guards. At the end of the solemn procession are Parta and two others bearing the vessel imprisoning Tiru The Impersonator. Unnoticed, the seal loosens, and one of the kalethar guards falls, slain. Tiru flees, pursued by every kalethar that can be spared for the chase. Rumors spread that Parta is responsible for The Impersonator’s escape, but he eludes formal blame. Recognizing the danger posed by Tiru on the loose, Indra redirects their party to an alternate detention site where for the next 1000 years, he and his companions will take turns guarding the infamous butchers of kalethar and humans.
